Leaders

Hi I’m Anna Howley. I have been given the honour of being Hornby High’s Head Girl for 2009. This is my fifth year at Hornby High School. I am involved in many cultural activities, having participated in netball and tennis over the past years.  I’m a Bullybuster and Peer Supporter, and a member of the Ball Committee, Drama Committee and Smokefree Committee. I have also been elected by my peers to sit as a student representative on the Board of Trustees. This has been a great way for me to give back to the school that I love so much. Hornby has helped me to excel in my education, continuing through to University where I hope to study medicine. I love the community feel of Hornby High School and the numerous opportunities presented to the students.

Kia ora. My name is Jay Hawaikirangi and I am Head Boy at Hornby High School. I have attended Hornby for 4 and a half years. Hornby has helped me develop my many sporting interests, including football, basketball and badminton. I am also actively involved in music, drama and dancing. Hornby High School has supported my many interests, and I like how the teachers always provide me with new opportunities to improve my skills and knowledge. Among the many leadership  development programs available at Hornby, a highlight has been my involvement as a Bullybuster.  Next year, I plan to attend university to study either biomechanics or sports psychology.
