Hello. My name is Alise Yates. This is my fifth year at Hornby High School and I am proud to be Head Girl for 2011. Before attending Hornby High School I went to Branston Intermediate and South Hornby Primary School. This year I am studying Statistics, History, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. My plans for next year are to attend Massey University in Palmerston North to study Veterinary Science. This year I am hoping to represent Hornby High School in equestrian. Over the years I have been involved in School Council, Ball committee, Bully Busters and Peer Support. One lesson that stands out for me is back in year 10 Science. In this class we had a rat that we were able to dissect. This started my interest in wanting to become a vet and I have not looked back since.
Hello, my name is David Wynyard and I have the honour to take on the role of head boy at Hornby High School for 2011. I have been at Hornby High for five years and have experienced quite a bit throughout my years at this school. I was born in Auckland and moved to Christchurch in 2004. Since being in Christchurch I have attended Burwood and Papanui Primaries, Casebrook and Branston Intermediates and finally Hornby High. This year I am studying Childcare, English, Geography, Health and History. Next year I wish to go to University of Canterbury and study to become a primary school teacher. This year I am playing: rugby for Hornby U18s, touch for school and socially outside of school, and basketball also for school. Over my five years at Hornby I have also been involved in Peer Support, Bully Buster, School Council, leadership conferences and was lucky enough to be a participant on the Spirit of New Zealand early 2010. I am very honoured and proud to hold the position of head student for 2011.
